And I would be referring to my haircut. Here the short hair cut makes me wonder, celebrities like Rihana, Victoria Beckham sport that is supposed to be short hair. Even sporting something longer than your shoulder length is supposed to short hair? I don’t know, I am asking here. No matter what it is the basic need and feel what I have is that I always preferred short hair and would like to keep it like that. Though the level of shortness have lessened.. that is the length of hair has improved.
But, short is what it is. Many can sport it and many can’t or is it in the beholders eyes. My friends tell me ‘now enough with this haircut’ let’s see some long locks. Most of my friends have long hair and they maintain it properly thus, making it look better. I on the other hand find it very difficult to maintain so by choice or by whatever reasons I think this seems simpler and easier.
The short hair is trendier and funkier according to me. If I had long hair what all styles would I be doing I wonder.. Same old styles, not necessarily many people would say. It looks good, no doubt but I would prefer having short hair always. Easy to maintain, just run your fingers through your hair and Voila they are set. That’s what l like about having a short hair cut. Can color them and keep trying something new all the time.
Follow the trend I say all the time. If you have long hair, how would that be possible? If some colour doesn’t suit would you get your get you a shorter hair-cut, I don’t think so but with a shorter hair-cut it’s not biggy. So looking at all the pros and cons I think short hair wins hands down in maintaining an easy and simple life.
This is one of the most ancient and very useful recipes suggested by many people i.e Drinking Water to save you from all kind of ailments. Be it acne or other digestive troubles – our beloved water has been our savior. I have known people who drink water like an elephant. Some of the fond remedies are as follows a) to get a clear stomach is to drink two liters of water every morning. I tried to do the same but failed miserably, no hard feelings though.
The other one is to keep drinking water the entire day approximately 12 glasses as recommended by many to get that shining and beautiful face. How are people able to manage that we don’t know, but there are many who follow this regime and very religiously I must say.
But I wonder, when there is acute shortage of water to do your basic stuff every morning, would you actually indulge in drinking 2 liters of water?? It seems funny because people are running helter-skelter from one tap to another to get their buckets filled and here you are drinking 2 liters of water to feel beautiful . Would you?
Many of us may not do it, if trouble hits home. As we all know water has bigger responsibilities than making you look good. But, even if the trouble doesn’t hit home would you give-up on drinking 2 liters of water just because someone recommended it ? I guess not. If you have to choose then of course the value and importance of the water you drink would surely be of more importance than any beauty tip, right? I guess, that’s the human part we all have, at least some of us may have.
If given a choice what would you choose…to have a tattoo or a piercing and why you like would to do it. If someone would ask me I would surely choose tattoo over and piercing. Getting piercing done is little extreme – don’t mind having ears pierced because that seems ok. Having a piercing on any other part of the body would be painful extremely painful which I don’t think I can bear.
If my threshold of pain would have been higher would I have gone for a body piercing? Naah ..its nothing to do with that. It’s just who I am. So talking about tattoo I would surely like to do have one. The thing about tattoo is that that if you get it done from a proper place then its great.. getting it done from any Tom, Dick or Harry may not be the right thing to do, which I did and had a bad experience.
When I was down in Goa.. I had got this tattoo done. The place seemed OK and all got a white tiger tattoo with light blue eyes.. it looked beautiful , magnificent and sexy. Best thing, the tiger was roaring on my heart a symbol for brave-heart which I would like to believe). I loved the tattoo I had picked but all this happiness went for a toss. Because as soon we left the parlour..things started taking turn for the worse.
When I removed the cotton pad from the tattoo.. my entire skin had turned red. That was it, been through so much pain to get this tattoo and now what has it done to me – made my heart cry, so much for the brave heart. But anyways things happen, as days passed I still urge to get a new tattoo and this would happen sooner than I know because I would be going to Australia soon and I have heard tattoo artists there, are real good. Keeping my fingers crossed.
‘Beauty lies in the eyes of a beholder’ is an old adage we have heard and overheard thousand times. When we talk about beauty isn’t it always superficial, the 1st impression we make about anyone is on their physicality. That’s how our minds work or that’s how we learnt to make an impression about someone. But defining beauty is pretty difficult, as I read quite a number of blogs which say the same. Everyone I guess have their own impressions on it.
But according to research these things don’t change, when you are talking what attracts people. In general no matter where you are each one of us will find that face attractive which is symmetric. Though this is supposed to be controversial theory, it is said that people prefer symmetric faces because it denotes the person to be healthy.
As I said earlier these researches are disputed because in countries like Africa being overweight is considered to be beautiful because it represents wealth but this standard of beauty may be different in other countries. So, you being in China or Brazil may have different connotations about beauty. So now I am wondering is it symmetric or is the culture or country you are from that will define you perception of beauty?
From all this you can say beauty can be measured in terms of how happy and healthy you are. The way you go about things in your life and how you manage to cope with it. How well you are with your friends, family and people you know can all be termed as reasons for being a happy camper + a beautiful face? What kind of a human being you are? Would that come under the scanner when you define beauty … if not maybe it should. That is what many people look for and want to know about people they are interacting with.
I am now in right in complete dearth of ideas to write. On that note let me just pick up some random topic or hot topic – would that be Avatar or 3 Idiots. Everyone wants to talk about 3 Idiots and the controversy it’s getting surrounded by. So let’s talk about Avatar. But this ‘talking’ has a different take on it, completely different perspective.
In today’s life one cannot imagine going to a wedding without first stepping into a beauty parlour first. I am wondering when kings ruled, the same culture would have been around but, these pleasures would have be received by the privileged few like the king, the queen and other influential people. This would seem true, or else people of those times didn’t bother about looking good and natural beauty always had the upper hand.
Now in case of Avatar movie these humanoids called as Navi though fictional are taller, stronger, faster, smarter (like Complan advert) than us. The Navi’s reminded me of ‘Jaadu’ from the movie ‘Koi Mil Gaya” – a shorter version though. These able-bodied men and women run through the rain forest like a cheetah in African safari or like a fish that takes to the water. The visuals are mind-blowing and awesomely choreographed – if I can use that word here.
Now coming to the point of my perspective on the movie with a different take is that these humanoids don’t have to worry about going to the parlour at all. If you look carefully they don’t have any hair on their skin – be it the humanoids (or animals) – waxing is out of question, with blue color covering their skin, there is no need for any make-up either. The usual jing- bang of the parlour is in the back-burner. With the beautiful forest of Pandora’s around you, one need not depend on anything else.
It was not that long when we humans were like the Navi’s, living off the earth. It was a simple and easy life to life. What I am trying to say is – the Navi’s of Pandora Planet need not go to any parlour, that’s the way they are. If only, we were like them – non judgmental, life would have so different for everyone as everyone is beautiful in your or my eyes.
Just reminiscing about 2009 and how great it was and had all my friends along with me to bid adieu to the year gone with some great music, lot of dancing and hanging around with friends. I am looking forward to a great and scintillating 2010. Let’s see how things hold up for this New Year. Hoping for good changes overall. Keeping fingers crossed.
In the meanwhile somewhere in the month of December I saw an advert in one of the newspapers where-in HUL were promoting the bebeautiful.in website. The ad looked interesting and it was Sunday morning –nothing much to do so I logged on to their site.
To my surprise it was quite an interesting site –clearly lot of info and details on the site. There were videos too on the site which talks about various ways to take care skin and also shows ways to do your make-up . I registered myself and once I filled in the details after maybe some time I got a call from them confirming all the information I mentioned in the website. This was quite a surprise-getting a call from them. They asked some questions related to my skin and hair and I was wondering why they are asking me all this, then I realized that it was posted by me in the registration form. Once all the questions were asked… the lady told me I would get a gift hamper within 15 days. Again, surprised I didn’t know what gift hamper they are talking about.
Days went by and I completely forgot about the hamper. Just two days back the door bell rang and some courier guy was standing in front of my door holding a parcel. I, with a question mark on my face asked him what he needed. He said, “parcel hai madam”, I asked him “Is it in my name?” My birthday is way far for someone to send me a gift. Anyways, I took the parcel signed the slip. With utmost excitement I opened the parcel on top of that I saw Hindustan Uniliver – didn’t click. It looked like one of those Cadbury Celebration boxes. I opened it and saw a Maroonish lipsticky colour box – on that it said “You believe in everything beautiful” then comes my Aaha moment – it’s the bebeautiful registration hamper. Should I tell you what is there in the box. I will spare the suspense and tell you I got -a green scarf, Lakme Lipstick, Vaseline moisturizer and a booklet full of discount offerings. Free hai toh kya problem hai bhai, I’ll say. I am guessing my new year is starting off pretty well with a free hamper to show-off. If you want to register just log on to bebeautiful.in.

You must be wondering what I am writing about. Well nowadays when I see many girls who are on and about Mumbai roads but faceless. The face and the head is covered by a shawl or Stoll and you may just see their eyes. Why this new look? Are they following a new trend? Naaah, it’s just that every day the amount of dust you feed your face and hair- it gets overwhelming. During the dry season your skin further deteriorates. There is no option but look like a ‘Dakoo Rani’ – no offense to any of those ladies.
During such time to avoid skin from drying use creams, body lotions or have some “nani ke nuske” which you can surely use. Though I love winter, sometimes the chilliness just doesn’t make me a happy camper. It may be the same for some people, I know. Protect your skin during such time. It may get tedious and boring but you will have to do it, if you want you protect your skin.
If you had a long and hard day, all these things just take a back seat. Travelling for long hours and getting busy with other chores in house would be a dampener if you had to go home and take some effort to protect your skin. Find an easy way out and apply it on your day to day life. Do not neglect it, though a small routine in your daily schedule. Things like these are sure to skip your mind. But no matter what you do, you will have look like a ‘Dakoo Rani” provided you are travelling in an Air conditioned car. No harm in that either. Right isn’t it girls!!
Beauty? What is beauty?? Miss World Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra or Miss Universe Sushmita Sen.. well we have many names but less time to mention all of them. For example, in the movie Paa the protagonist ‘Auro’ looked different, but for his mother he will be the most beautiful child. So how does one determine beauty? Inner beauty is determined through your deeds and outer beauty – well you can see for yourself
After shedding the serious tone lets gets to the article which wants to talk about beauty. So if I want to be beautiful, what do I do? I say – sleep. Yeah you heard it right. Have you heard of the term – I need my beauty sleep, it’s absolutely true. To be beautiful, sleeping and resting is the best medicine; I would say that – experience speaks for itself. If I am not wrong it is scientifically proven too. If I am wrong well – you try for yourself.
The simple rule according to me or even if I Google ‘proper sleep’ it would say to treat your body properly by giving proper rest. The dark circles under your eyes, being tired, lethargic are all part of your regime if you do not have the daily dose of sleep. So for starters let’s all have some good sleep and try to get the radiant look we keep striving for.
